We couldn't have done this without the commitment, loyalty and hard work of the best team of coaches I could have imagined. We believe in leading by example and each one of the members of Team Evolution BC train just like our athletes, by hitting the Wods in CrossFit or the mitts in Krav Maga.
Jason(Jayboy) gets up early Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to drive in from Delta to motivate some of the biggest classes we see at CFBC. The 6am'rs are lucky to have such a skilled and caring coach. Thanks Jayboy!
Dan(JD) has helped on so many levels, coaching classes in West Van, programming for our competitors, and helping out with all of our extra events. Oh, and he's a pretty good competitor too, coming 4th last week at the Gorilla Games. Thanks JD!
Sophie(Doph) keeps the machine running. If there's anything you need to know, Soph will have the answer. You can find her training at the 7am in Yaletown, keeping the front end organized at both gyms, managing the websites, FaceBook and Tweeting the goings on. Thanks Soph!
Lance(Specimen) is either crushing a Wod, coaching a Wod, rolling with our advanced KM fighters, or teaching defence against a gun. This technician has also helped build our Krav Maga program into one of the most respected in the country. Thanks Lance!
As the funny, good natured CrossFit coach and KM instructor, Mannee(Sponge Bob) also helps fix just about anything that is broken around the gym. If you've trained with him, you'll know how much personality he adds to a class. We're sad to say his company is moving him to California in the new year and he'll surely be missed by us all. Thanks for everything Mannee, and Good Luck!
Steph the Mighty Midget, has been with us since she was 14 years old. She now one of our top KM practitioners. Steph runs our West Van KM program, teaches in Yaletown a couple of times a week(Pity you, if she asks you to volunteer for a demo), all while chasing a degree at UBC. Thanks Steph!
SaraSally runs the West Van gym with JD. She is one our fiercest competitors and a talented O'lifter who is eager to share her knowledge with her athletes. Thanks SaraSally!
A fun and energetic coach, Alex(Spydey) has shown what shear determination and hard work can do after coming back from shoulder surgery. She is a better, stronger CrossFitter and one hell of a competitor. Thanks for inspiring us all Spydey!
Warren(Ralph/Lashes) is one of BC's top ski coaches and we're lucky to have him running classes at CFBC. Thanks Ralph!s
Our Yaletown manager Danny D(Wolverine) left us early this year to pursue a career in Law Enforcement and graduated this month becoming a constable for Vancouver Police. We look forward to seeing you back soon D.
No-one looks more comfortable on the rings, bars, or upside down than Ryan(Mantis). A gifted athlete who coaches at both gyms. We're glad to have you on the team Mantis!
Special thanks to Tim(TKD) for his computer and website wizardry, Kate(Curly) for her creative expertise, Joan for helping to keep the books straight, CF apprentice coach Taryn(Dizzy) for her assistance in class, Ashley for helping to keep things in order around the gym, KM instructor Danny Chan for target holding and good demos.
At Evolution BC, our goal has always been to build community, one athlete at a time by creating a friendly environment where our athletes put their stressful lives aside while they train, meet new friends and attain their health and fitness goals.
Imi Lichtenfeld designed Krav Maga for the Israeli Military because it is logical, quick to learn and easy to retain. There is no wonder that this realistic self defence system has been embraced by law enforcement, military, and civilians around the world. Krav Maga BC has some of the most talented students in the Krav Maga Alliance.
Greg Glassman started this movement called CrossFit in a garage. It's never been about having the best equipment or the most scientific programming. If you want to see real gains in CrossFit, you need to work hard and take responsibility for your own training. Our programming is well thought out and will continue to challenge you on a daily basis. Each one of us has a list of things that we're not good at. Make the list, then come and talk to us about the best way to get better at those techniques. Your coaches are here to help you.
We can't do what we do, without you our athletes!! Every day, I look forward to seeing you in the gym. Even when someone else is running the class, I still love to walk the floor and encourage you through your workout and see how you are improving from day to day.
Thank you for being such an important part of our community
Happy Holiday To You And Your Family
